Project Concept Proposal

This is a project of redesign a commercial website which was given by lecturer randomly. The website that i need to redesign is body perfect,http://bodyperfect.com.my/. It is a website that selling some product, some promotion and also giving some services like spa,facial to woman.In this project, we are not allowed to change the logo,identity and reposition the brand. What we need to do is learn the basic concept and redesign the website with new design or idea. We have 8 weeks to create at least 8 pages of HTML and finish it in that 8 weeks.

Current Site's Analysis

The purpose of the website is let user know more about the facilities and benefits of beauty. Other than that, they also list out all the treatment,for example, face, body slimming, body beauty & wellness , bust care, spa, and beauty services.They also show out their success story and some awards. They provide email address, location of the beauty center and telephone number for all the people who interest to do some treatment or buy their products. The target audience is woman.

There have some pages that need to improve. The font that used is too simple, they like to use boxy shape to design the web page, the size of the picture are not accurate, there are no hierarchy for the arrangement of words,and also some space are wasted.

Client's Analysis

Body Perfect believe that being beautiful is for everyone. Can get to experience and enticingly new realm of beauty treatments at here. With the perfect combination of nature, state of the art technology and skill, They promise you the best very best in professional beauty care. All of the
treatments are technologically advanced and exclusive- imported from some of the leading
scientifically forward countries like USA, France and Italy.

Their treatments are also ISO certified and have the US FDA stamp of approval and patent. They are also endorsed by leading dermatologists in USA, Europe and Japan. They create a very good atmosphere, a very good environment for the beauty treatment. They promise an unforgettable and mesmerising experience with their internationally trained Beauty Managers, who will guide through your beauty requisites.

Short & Long-term Site Goals

For the short term, they should add more promotion to attract more costumers attention to their
package. Now they just have one promotion. There is not enough to attract more and more people. Other than that, they should promote some special package during some festival like buy one free one. But until now, they never update and change their promotion even the Hari Raya is coming soon.

For the long term they should do more promotion at some public places such as shopping mall or some advertisement of the beauty center. In TV programme, i never saw the advertisement of this beauty center.Compare with the other beauty center such as London, weight. They should promote more product in their website and also do some advertisement in TV programme to get more attention by costumers.

Target Audience

-Their target audience is female, anyone who like beauty.

For the career opportunity part:

Operations Manager:
-Female candidate aged 30 and above with 5 years of experience in the retail and service operations section.
-Possess relevant tertiary qualifications and have strong analytical skills.
-Able to work independently and oversee the daily operations of the assigned Body Perfect outlet.
-Must have exceptional management and leadership skills.

Beauty Consultant:
-Female candidate aged 25-35 years.
-Experience in the beauty industry would be an added advantage.
-Able to cooperate and efficiently assist the center/ Beauty Manager accordingly.
-Aggressive, results oriented, willing to learn and have pleasant personality & good communication skills.

Senior Beauty Therapist:
-Female candidate aged 18 and above.
-Preferably with least 2 years of experience.

Junior Beauty Therapist:
-female candidate aged 18 and above
-Those who has keen interest in beauty but with no beauty training are encouraged to apply.

Customer Service Executive:
-Female candidate aged 21-30 years.
-Able to provide excellent customer service support. Computer literate.
-Possess good interpersonal and communications skills and exude excellent phone manners.
-Able to converse fluently in English and Malay.

Masseur:
-Female candidate aged 21-30 years.
-Preferably with at least 2 years of experience.

VL Skin care is a center that has treatment for those with problematic sensitive skin, transforming them to a silky smooth radiance glowing with beauty. The treatment such as hair care, body care, normal skin, acne skin, and sensitive skin. They have a lot of product to promote compare with the Body Perfect. The webpage is very nice, warm, comfortable.

Other than that, they also show out all the achievement from year 2002 until 2008. From that we can get a lot of information and some news. From this way can attract a lot of customers attention.

Secondary Competitor: London Weight Management http://www.londonweight.com/

London Weight Management is a center which is helping the people who face overweight problems. The treatment are not same with the Body Pefect. They just focus in the weight problem, but Body Perfect's treatment contain many areas such as skin care, slimming body, spa, etc...But the promotion part, London has more promotion and advertisement than Body Perfect.

1. The circle (red arrow) put at there got a bit weird. Not suitable for the design and the environment.
2. The font that used is simple.
3. The women who sit at there, make people confused, don't know whether is sit on the sea
or ?

1. All thing in box . looks boxy.
2. The font a bit big, let me feel too many space was waste, should change the size.
3. Some of the font was bold, some are not.
4. The size of the picture can be smaller.

1. The photo at the left is nice and clear.
2. But the size of the 4 photo at the bottom can be bigger.
3. No hierarchy, the arrangement of the words.

1st idea : how i made him/her surprise

Mood Study

That time listen the music,let me feel like i was in a ceremony.
So i use doted line again, and draw out some curve line, and i use some different
color like orange,gold,green,yellow,etc to represent the people who walk on the street.
There has some show or dance in the ceremony. The street is busting, full of people.
I use gold color on it is because it let me feel like the emperor and empress were come out.
It was a noble ceremony.

I use some darker color like dark purple,dark green,brown,gray,etc to represent the people
who stand beside the street and see the show/ ceremony.Along the street was full of people.

When listen this music, was give me some mysterious feeling. So i used some dark color like dark purple, dark green, to express the feeling. That time when draw this artwork, the situation like in the bamboo jungle. So i use big doted line for it to show the bamboo in abstract way. The music let me feel that has a people inside the bamboo jungle and he/she was lost the way to go out, the situation is very scary,worry,darkness,and mysterious. Suddenly the music change to a high key, let me feel like the person who lost saw some light (the way out), the happiness was appear, the feeling of worry,scary,all gone. So ,i use some gaily color like red and orange,and i use it on the sky. It represent firecracker. Even though they lost their way, but they never give up, and finally they saw some light, with the feeling of happiness.

When drawing this artwork, the music let me feel like
something was cover or hiding inside. So i use a lot of gray color
to represent the cloud, it was hiding something that moving or
covering something that was just born out. Then i use some
colorful color to represent the thing that moving, it looks like
a dragon. First,u can see that i using dot line, it is because i
wan show the feeling of "born", it was just "produce". After that,
i use a smooth line to show that the "dragon" was coming out.

I follow the flow of the music to draw out the movement
of the "dragon". The key of music was repeat turning, suddenly
high key,suddenly low key, so the line of "dragon" is curve line. Freedom
was appear through the movement of the "dragon".

For Hokkien people, 9th beginning of the Lunar New Year,are very important. All the Hokkien people will buy some sugar cane at that day and pray to God ,blessing to the family .Why they want to buy sugar cane and pray to the God? hehe..the reason is 。。。。。。。。。。。

Long time ago , the Ming Dynasty when the 1st of the Lunar New Year,there has a war in the area of Fujian,the Japanese soldier go attack the people at there,all the villagers very scare and fear. Then all the villagers was run away from the village, if not, the Japanese soldier will catch them up. They run and run and run,suddenly appear a large sugarcane forest . The villagers have fled into the forest hide in the sugarcane forest, to avoid the soldiers. On the 9th of the Lunar New Year, they success avoid from the soldier, all the villager have freedom .They celebrate on that day and they said is God help them .So until now, all the Hokkien people will pray to the god on that day. For them, the 9th of the Lunar New Year is more important than 1st of the Lunar New Year.

The Chinese Valentine's Day(七月情人节)

In Chinese lunar calendar,July 7th is Chinese Valentine's Day. It has a special meaning for girls, they burn joss sticks to pray their gods for a light hand at housework and a perfect match in marriage.

Long time ago, a poor boy lived with his elder brother and sister-in-law. But he was driven out of home in his early twenties. Having nothing but an old cattle, he moved into a cottage and was called cowboy ( Niulang) by people. One day, the cattle suddenly said to him, 'you are a good boy. If you want to get married, go to the brook and your wish will be realizes.'

Cowboy did so, after a short while, he saw seven pretty fairies coming and taking a bath in the water. Fascinated by the youngest and also the most pretty one, he took away her clothes in secret. After they bath, the youngest was left alone. At that time, Cowboy appeared in front of her and ask her to marry him. He looks handsome that she nodded.

They lived a poor but happy life and two years later, they had a son and a daughter. But the Jade Emperor (the dominant god in heaven in Chinese folktales) heard it and annoyed,for the fairy turned out to be weaving girl to weave clouds and rainbows. Without her, the sky was dull, so the quees Wangmu forces her back. Cowboy took his children in two bamboo baskets and ran after her with the old cattle's help. Just then the Queen drew a line between them with her hairpin and it became the Milky Way. Pied magpies(a kind of bird) were moved by their cries and lots of them gathered and formed a bridge for the couple. And the Queen finally agreed their meeting on every July 7th. So ,they two only can meet each other at tat day every year....

Pixel art is form of digital art. The raster graphics software has been used to create the pixel art. The most old graphics in computer and video games, graphing calculator games, and mobile phone games are mostly using the pixel art to form it.

Findings

The pixel art was first published by Adele Goldberg and Robert Flegal of Xerox Palo Alto Research Center in 1982 .

History of piㄨel art
There have some history about pixel art.Now only i knew that some traditional art forms like cross-stitch, mosaic have some similarity to pixel art. It is because the way of constructing out the picture are quite same by using small unit to construct it.

Where it can be found / used

Nowaday, pixel art was hard to found in computer game and video game. It was very often used in old computer and video game. Because of the increasing of 3 dimension graphic in game , pixel art become lesser in used. But we still can found it at low resolution's mobile phone and other portable device. Sometimes pixel art is used in advertising too.
